In 1999, the first private University was established in Okada. It was named Igbinedion university. Since then; private educators and investors have taken over the Tertiary Education in Nigeria. 

However, the cost of running these private institutions continues to sky_rocket, a reflection of economic realities of the country. Little wonder, private Universities in Nigeria have become very expensive compared to other countries.
