The wife of the President, Hajia Aisha Buhari, has apologised to Nigerians over the security challenges and hardship being experienced in the country.  Tribune reports that the First Lady made the apology on Friday, September 30, at the 62nd Independence Day Special Juma’at Prayer and Public Lecture with the theme “Shura: The Islamic Foundation of True Democracy” which was held at the National Mosque Conference Hall, Abuja. According to her, the devaluation of the naira, continuous drop in the foreign exchange rate has affected the economy and caused a lot of hardship and difficulties in terms of education, health and other day-to-day activities of Nigerians.  She however, lauded the military and other security agencies for their continued onslaught on terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and wished them more success.   Ace Nollywood filmmaker Kunle Afolayan talks about his latest movie, Anikulapo and how much it costs to produce. He revealed this during a chat with Legit.ng, where he shared the true inspiration behind his production of a Yoruba epic movie of such scale.  Nigeria has lost another prominent traditional ruler. His Royal Highness, Dr Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi III, Maigari of Lokoja in Kogi state, died in Abuja after a brief illness. The deceased was one of the longest-serving traditional rulers, having ascended the throne in 1992.

The request of a powerful African President has been denied.  Zimbabwean president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, who earlier requested permission from King Charles III to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday has been denied.  Buckingham Palace in a statement said: “there is also concern at the confirmed reports of non-adherence to respecting human rights occurring in Zimbabwe.”

The DG of the presidential campaign council, Governor Simon Lalong, said: "We have decided to adjust the timetable of these activities in order to ensure everyone is on board before activities officially commence."
